Christmas cards..

...Take 10!!

This is round ten of our Christmas cards in the making.

Lia only wants to wear "the Kitty" pj's.
Ok let's see how it goes wearing said pj's

Ok now move closer to the tree

Ok now look at me- or maybe not

Ok now look at me ... And smile!! Yay

Ok now ditch the sunglasses, look at me and smile

Not ditching the sunglasses, barely looking at me, not smiling AND not caring that Ernie the Elf is right there watching every moment.
Better luck next weekend when we go to visit Santa!

Thanksgiving Eve

It 'twas the night before Thanksgiving
And all through the house

Lia was not stirring....
Because we were watching a new movie

A new Thanksgiving tradition has begun-
The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about Christmas.
It held Lia's interest twice today and that is saying a lot!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A big ol' ......

Have I mentioned this before?
Lia loves to play a "game" she made up called
A Big Ol'
She gathers a big ol' pile of - clothes and has a blast!
She gathers her big ol' pile

She tosses her big ol' pile

She lays down in her pile ol' pile
The clothes go flying and she thinks it is SO FUNNY !!!
And starts the game all over again!
This is a "game" she has played since she was 1.
She thinks it is so much fun and it can keep her entertained for a long time.
She does this every time there is a load of laundry fresh from the dryer or
it's time to clean out the closet and drawers!
Oh to be young again.

Let the fun begin

We spent a few days inside resting this weekend after Lia's surgery so we took the opportunity to get in the Christmas spirt!

After we bought a new tree...
Our other one had about 300 lights and when we plugged it in about 150 were out!

Let the fun begin!
It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Lia did fantastic with her trigger thumb surgery and is recovering well. We are relieved parents.

Our little peanut is AWESOME.

We started the day early.
Here we are arriving at 7:45am for a 10am surgery.

We followed the blue path to the green path to the 2nd floor surgery center aka "playroom"

We went back to pre-op by 8am.
And dressed for surgery. We were prepared for the long wait.
We went to our "bed" where we were surprised to find out Lia would go in for surgery by 9am!!!

Look who came with us to the hospital- Brobee -
"Blue Triceratops"
and "Stripes" the kitty (she's a new addition thanks to the hospital)
Lia's pretty creative with names huh?!
By 9:40 we were meeting with the surgeon and by 10am we were hanging out with Lia in recovery having Sprite and a red Popsicle!!

We were home by 11am and Lia proceeded to eat everything she could.
The first thing she asked for was cheese and crackers and soup and juice.
That was just round 1 of the eatathon that lasted all day!!

Lia doesn't have any type of cast, just a bandage and is using her hand and thumb beautifully.
She was a little tired and weepy the day after surgery but is doing better than we ever thought.
She is strong, determined and brave.
We are SO proud of you Lia!!

Let's try this one more time...

Trigger thumb surgery is scheduled for later this week - after our delay last month due to croup.

Ready or not here we come.

We've been watching a little
Docs McStuffins and playing with our doctor kit!

And talking about our thumb feeling better soon.

Here's to a speedy recovery!

Mother Nature was all TRICKS!

Oh what a night ~ it was rainy, windy and chilly.
Mother Nature was all tricks.
We started off the day with a Halloween Party at school.
 Lia was an OSU Cheerleader.
The school asked that the kids not bring their accessories, for fear of loosing or damaging them.
And her costume was all accessories so...
a last minute costume change was in order.

Lia had a blast with the pumpkin "guts"
As the day went on the rain came in. Lia was not interested in going out in the wet stuff.

She stood at the door and said "Hello" to all of the kids who braved the weather.
She was not so happy about putting on her costume. She said that the "dress and socks were too itchy" and she didn't like it - at all.
So here is a picture of Lia in her witches costume with out the itchy socks!
Thank God for Kit Kats!!
About 2 seconds later the "dress"- tutu was off..

...And the cheerleader outfit was back on.
So Lia became a witchleader
We saw a break in the rain and attempted to go around the block.
We made it 2 houses and Lia was over it.
Her hat blew off 6 times,
her Hello Kitty umbrella was flying every where
and she cried twice because she couldn't hang on to her
hat, cauldron and umbrella all at the same time.
It started to pour again
Yep, we are quitters!!!
We RAN back home and ate the candy she collected from the 2 houses.
Lia played dress up for hours thanks to Oma's witches hat, glasses and bracelet.
This is what memories are made of.
Oct 31st 2013- A rainy but fun Halloween
