Xin Nian Kuai Le!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Gong Hey Fat Choy!
Gong Xi Gong Xi!
Whether you speak Mandarin or Cantonese,
Whether it's traditional or modern
it all means
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
and
Wishes joy and prosperity in the coming year.
Welcome year of the snake.

The house was cleaned and readied in the Chinese tradition of welcoming the year

Lia was dressed in her red silks
given red envelopes and gifts. She calls the red envelopes
"Chinese envelopes"

We met family for a Chinese dinner

And watched a traditional Lion dance

The night ended with a birthday celebration.
It was Jim's/Daddys birthday... a "lucky" sign  for 2013!
Here's to another fun and exciting year!!! Thank you everyone, for sharing the night with us and celebrating the New Year, we had a great time!
