Make new friends,

But keep the old. One is silver the other is gold.
This week Lia discovered some old friends and had a blast.
She found out that old friends are so much fun. Even if you haven't
seen them in a while you can pick up right where you left off.
Isn't that the truth??
She LOVES looking for eggs and putting them in a basket.
She has about 25 or so in the basket. She dumps them all out and one at a time
picks them up, all the while saying
"If you see an egg, say egg"
Then she runs around the house looking for the eggs. They are always in a pile in the same place but she searches the house anyway!!
She was a cowgirl again.

She found her old friends,
"Duck with stripes, Cow with a pattern and Pig with flowers"
We got these for her when we returned from China. She had her 1 year pictures taken with Cow and Pig. Now they are back! She has slept with them every night! TOO CUTE.

Lia has rediscovered Kai Lan. She is so into Dora and Wonder Pets we thought
Kai Lan was a thing of the past...but nope! She's baaack!

Old friends are gold and so much fun!!
Hope your week is golden!!!!

So here's what we've been up to...

... this week
Lia has practiced smiling for the camera. She usually just looks at me like
do what ? But this week we have been "cheesing" for the camera.

We have also been watching our new favorite episode of
Team Umizoomie- Let's Play Math Dragons!
It's has a stinky dragon "with a very strong funk" in it that chases them around while solving
math problems.
Needless to say Lia's new favorite saying is "I smell something stinky. PU"
She says it ALL THE TIME and in places like the grocery, Target and CVS.
Oh the looks we get!!!

Lia has also loved jumping on the bed. I mean who doesn't??
We don't live in our PJ's, I swear, but we've all had colds this week so it seemed like the thing to do!
Have a good week and HAPPY SUNDAY !!

The house was cleaned and readied in the Chinese tradition of welcoming the year

Lia was dressed in her red silks
given red envelopes and gifts. She calls the red envelopes
"Chinese envelopes"

We met family for a Chinese dinner

And watched a traditional Lion dance
The night ended with a birthday celebration.
It was Jim's/Daddys birthday... a "lucky" sign  for 2013!

Cabin Fever: And its only February

This past week we have been playing, playing, playing!
The weather outside is frightful- COLD! So inside we stay!
We are all getting a little punchy and need to burn off some energy but....
we are months away from that.
So we have found ways to keep busy.

We played pirate postman.
Ahoy Mr Postman
We played with our friends:
"Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowmens and Penguino"
Of course we read:
We Belong Together
for the 999 time!!
We started our own band.
Still working on a name, every good family band needs a cool name?!
Lia found her calling, fashion designer!!!
Oh yea, the coolest boots and outfit ever!!

 It's been another fun week.
Lia is almost 3 and this funny, silly and smart little girl is really starting to bloom.
Not to say that there haven't been a few "tests" ....
She is a girl and she is almost 3! Enough said right???

We have a fun week ahead. Celebrating Chinese New Year and Daddys Bday.
Lia's silks are ready to go and we cant wait to celebrate New Years with her and all of our family.

Have a great week everyone
