Snow Day

Burr..its been cold outside.
We had another snow day. It was so pretty. It was a light fluffy snow, not the kind for making snowballs or snowmen but the kind for just running around in. Here's Lia's take on it all!

Huh? You want me to do what?

What? What's that you say? I am supposed to play in this stuff. OK, clear a path for me. I am not quite sure I want to get wet!!

OK ..this is kinda fun, but my hands are cold and wet so Daddy can you wipe them off EVERY time I touch the Xue (snow in Chinese)

OK now I am having fun! I like this! Can we do it again? Soon.
Sure, it's OHIO I am sure winter is not over yet!!

THE END!!
Look at that sweet red face. Too much fun in the snow!!

Nap time started right there on the floor about 10 minutes after we came back inside.
Happy Snow Day !!!

Still Celebrating

January is the month for birthdays in our families. This weekend the celebration continued with a party for Opa and Kiki!

Here is Opa hanging with his little girls!!

Our attempt at a German Choc cake! The candles were so cool,
the flame was the color of the candle.

This is how cold it has been. 9 ....the wind chill made it MUCH colder!

We have updated Lia's Library.
This is her current favorite

It's been a cold and quiet week. Well that is January in Ohio!

Celebrate,

Good times, come on !!
Today we need to start out by giving a BIG shot out to:
My dad aka OPA... Happy Birthday to you. Feel Better soon. We'll celebrate next weekend
and to
Jim's Mom aka Grandma..Happy Birthday to you

We have eaten our way through this town the past few days celebrating Mary Ann's Birthday and visiting with out of town cousins. It was a big one for her but because I value my relationship with my mother in law...let just say 29 (again) hehehehe
We started with Mexican on Friday, Italian on Saturday and German on Sunday.
Now we are full. You know the story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar?
Well it's kinda like that.
After this post we'll all get in our cocoons.

So what else happened this week?
It went from this...

To this...
...in a matter of days.
One day all bundled up the next 60 degrees and riding her new bike.
She LOVES her new pink ride.
And what little girl wouldn't??
She got the peddling thing down in just a few tries. She takes after her daddy!
Now we need some more good weather to master steering. We predict by spring she'll be roaming the neighborhood like a pro. She is one determined little girl & she'll try until she gets it.
We LOVE that about her!!

Happy Sunday everyone.

The first week of the new year :

We spent the 1st week of the new year doing our "normal" stuff.
We took down Christmas. We were sorry to see it go, as it was a great season watching the magic through Lia's eyes. BUT there is something rather nice about getting back to the routine. This week our routine was organizing, cleaning and having some winter time fun.

Lia spent some of her time, relaxing and Dora, Olivia and Wonder Pets watching
Snuggled up on the couch!

She loved visiting Oma and Opa and playing with "Frosty"
This Frosty had 2 eyes made out of black olives
a carrot nose
and
a cheeky beret!!

She spent A LOT of time reading her new books.
She got a lot of new books for Christmas and has spent the week getting to know
each of them.

First the Egg , may be her new favorite !!

So today we are off to organize the computer room/workout room/bike storing room
It's a big project but someone has to do it!

 Have a good week everyone.
